Greener way to charge gadgets

If you are green minded gadget geek then you will definitely love this one. A Singapore based alternative fuel cell company Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies launched HydroFill – World’s first ‘Hydrogen Power Station’. It is used to charge USB powered gadgets.

HydroFill basically breaks down water into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity. The extracted Hydrogen is stored in cartridges called ‘Hydrogensticks’. As an alternative to external power supply, it gives small solar panel to charge your Hydrosticks and is also compatible with small wind turbines. You can then use MiniPAK (a micro-fuel cell power supply that converts Hydrogen stored in Hydrosticks into electricity) to charge USB powered gadgets.                                            hydrofill

HydroFill produces water vapour as by-product meaning zero pollution. The cartridges are indeed rechargeable and have a good lifespan of 200 to 300 refills.

HydroFill power station system costs a whopping $600. Even though it is costlier than standard remote chargers, it’s great development in the direction of reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. Horizon has acknowledged the cost factor and stated that they are currently banking on green energy enthusiasts to buy them.
